Taib’s career up all the way, says Bernama chairman

Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud has been described as a rare politician who has had an uphill career without any pitfall over the span of his 50 years in public life.

This was the view expressed by Bernama Chairman Datuk Seri Azman Ujang when he received a courtesy call from the author and biographer for the Head of State, Mr Siva Kumar G at his office in Wisma Bernama here yesterday morning.

Mr Siva presented Azman with an autographed copy of TAIB THE VISIONARY which Siva took three years to write and produce and officially launched in January last year by Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Haji Adenan Satem.

Unlike most other politicians, Azman said Taib has had an illustrious career with 33 years as Chief Minister and on to become the 7th Governor of Sarawak, all of which is carefully illustrated and described in Siva’s book which he felt honoured and touched receiving from the hands of a fellow
seasoned journalist.

“Not an election lost and the one person who remains a treasure trove of experience having served under all 6 prime ministers of Malaysia.”

Siva said that the book was currently being translated into Bahasa Malaysia and would be launched soon with two more chapters to the already 34-chapter book of 800 odd pages.

The two chapters, Siva said would include an updated appendix, an analysis of the recently concluded 11th State Election and a current conversation with Taib which would reflect on his aspirations as Governor.

Siva is also the Group Managing Director of ASIA PR Malaysia which has offices in Kuala Lumpur, Kuching and the Cambodian capital city of Phnom Penh.
